Recommendations

I created this page to provide recommendations for some of my favorite products and brands. These include Ayurvedic products, as well as a few other companies that I love. This list does include some affiliate links, but these are all products that I love and can personally vouch for. I will never recommend something that I don’t trust.

Ayurveda

Banyan Botanicals – It’s no secret that I love Banyan Botanicals. They offer some of the best ayurvedic supplements and food products available. Banyan is my favorite place to buy kitchari ingredients, and I love their selection of skin care products and high quality bulk oils.

Constitution Quiz – This Prakriti quiz is offered by Banyan Botanicals, but I am mentioning it separately because it is such a valuable tool. Ayurvedic healing requires knowledge of your constitution. There are a lot of dosha quizzes floating around online, and the constitution quiz tool by Banyan blows them all out of the water. Start with this quiz if you are just beginning your Ayurveda journey to get an idea of where to start. It is also useful to check in occasionally and re-take the quiz, as your constitution may shift with time and life experience.

Organic India – Tulsi teas from Organic India can’t be beat. I am a huge fan of the original tea, and there is an incredible selection of tea medleys that use tulsi.

Toxin-Free Living

100 Percent Pure – If you are looking for toxin-free cosmetics, 100% Pure is easily my favorite option. All of their makeup products are dyed using fruit pigments and are free of heavy metals. Their skin, hair, and beauty products are all made using natural plant-based oils and are excellent for those with chemical sensitivities.

Aquasana – Removing toxins from our environment is a critical part of optimizing health. Water used in the shower and bath is often overlooked as a source of chlorine, fluoride, and other harmful chemicals. In some cases, exposure to unfiltered shower water can be more damaging than drinking unfiltered water, as airborne chlorine in shower steam is easily absorbed by the lungs when it is inhaled. I have used an aquasana filter for several years and am consistently impressed with it.

Blogging

BlueHost – If you are looking to start your own blog, I highly recommend using Bluehost for your hosting needs. Bluehost is one of the top web hosting companies, and you can get started with your own blog for just $3.49/month.

Outdoors

REI – Spending time outdoors is one of the most important components of my health and happiness. REI is by far my favorite source for outdoor gear and is an excellent resource for questions about any adventure.

Get OutfittedGet Outfitted is a great option if you don’t want to purchase your own gear. They will deliver high quality ski gear and clothing straight to the ski resort of your choice, and you send it back through the mail when your vacation is over. I really like this option as an alternative to waiting in long rental lines for overused gear.

Cairn Subscription Box – Following in the footsteps of many other successful subscription boxes, Cairn offers a fun outdoor-themed monthly subscription box full of snacks, gear, apparel, and skin care. There are also options to receive a box every other month or 3 times per year.
